Sanitation
Performer with the artist Yaci Theranos at Zaz Festival, The Performance Art Platform – Tel Aviv, 2014

Detergent bottles and cleaning products were lined up in a row at some distance from one of the outer walls of the Tel Aviv central bus station and used to scrap off layers of soot that had accumulated. The bottles emptied out and the obstacle or borderline they had created between the performer and bystanders vanished and as the performance ended, only a strip of grit remained, meant as a stamp of the place. The spectators returned to be passersby and the mark left on the wall will eventually disappear, once more fully covered in indistinguishable soot. The Tel Aviv central bus station, one of the largest brutalist buildings in the region, has been considered an environmental nuisance since its construction.
